Wedding Photography FAQ

Wedding Photography Frequently Asked Questions

What is your style of wedding photography?

I try to create art with the images and while doing so I use many different styles. Journalistic and editorial/fashion/traditional styles are just a few to name. I enjoy capturing emotions and elegance.  Sometimes you may have no idea why a photographer is asking you to do certain things or may even avoid it, but at the end of the day, you will appreciate the final results when you’ll see the images. This is why you are hiring a professional wedding photographer!Ultimate goal with each and every wedding is to capture memories you want to relive over and over, with precious candid moments of your family and friends sharing this fabulous occasion with you.

How many weddings have you photographed?

Over 150 weddings.

Is it important to have a second shooter on the day?

While a single photographer can capture your day, we strongly advise having a second shooter to ensure no incredible moments are missed. While one focuses on the father of the bride’s speech for example, the other can focus on reactions from the bride or guests, thus creating a more compelling story of your day. Further while I’m primarily a photojournalist, and will quietly be candidly capturing moments and people, the second photographer will be doing a bit more of regular and formal photography, and this means you’ll end up with an amazing collection of different images to choose from.

How long does it take to receive my high resolution images and the albums?

The wedding images in high-resolution are usually ready within 1 month after your wedding date. Engagement photographs take about 2 weeks. All the images are fully retouched!! After your album order is received from you, on average it takes 4-6 weeks to get your album on our hands.

How many photographs make a great wedding album?

I normally choose between 100 and 120 pictures for the standard 30-page album. However, if you need more than 120 images, it may be advisable to increase the album page count, or to make a second album.

What kind of editing and retouching do you do?

Most photographers just do basic color correction by using automated software(saturation/sharpness/crop). Then randomly highlight and select a few pictures that they convert to Black/White. In my case I personally edit each and every photograph by hand, fixing certain imperfections, colors and adjusting what’s needed, to make sure the images look amazing.

What’s an engagement session? Should I do it?

You should absolutely do it!! These sessions are fun – everyone loves them! You’ll learn to be in front of the camera and we all will get to know each other, which will help you to be less stressed if you are not the type to take a lot of pictures of yourself. I will show you how to pose properly in order to look great and look younger!  Certainly, I can also just say the common “just do your thing and be yourself” and leave you alone, while taking photographs from afar – if that’s your ideal way of being in front of a camera…

Expect ~150 very fun, elegant, cool and creative photographs of two of you together in a casual environment(perhaps even in different outfits).

Where and when will the pre wedding/engagement shoot take place?

It’ll normally take place somewhere in Mallorca. Preferably at some place that holds some special meaning to you. Ideally due to having to shoot events over the weekend, most of my engagement sessions take place during the week. But sometimes I do manage to arrange a weekend shoot.

Do you photograph Family sessions? Do you photograph baby/maternity sessions?

Yes

The samples on your website look great. Are these just lucky shots from Your weddings?

These are my favourite images. I always push myself to provide consistent results and believe all my wedding images look like that – this is one of the benefits of hiring an experienced professional wedding photographer. During our meeting I would be happy to show album samples from full weddings.

How far in advance do I need to reserve my date?

My best advice is to reserve your date as soon as you know that you want me to be your photographer for your event. With limited availability certain dates book up very far in advance. A 50% deposit with a signed agreement is required to secure your date.

I really want to do a Trash The Dress session, but don’t want to ruin my expensive dress from a famous gown designer!

I can recommend to find online retailers that sell cheap dresses . You can consider getting one of those for the session. It is also possible to take amazing trash the dress pictures without ruining your dress. It all depends on your vision and the types of pictures you want to receive. There’s no reason to actually “trash the dress”. Most brides just want a few gorgeous pictures with their beautiful dress and handsome husband

How many images do you provide and how many images are edited?

Although I can’t guarantee the number of images as each event is different, you should expect to receive up to 1000 images per wedding.

We love your work and would like to book you. How do we proceed?

If you’re having a wedding in Mallorca, it would be great if we can meet and get to know each other and talk more about your day. If you don’t live in Mallorca we can discuss all the details over the email/phone and you can mail or email the contract along with the retainer amount. The whole process is pretty easy.

What happens after the booking?

We’ll then start pre wedding consultations leading up to the day. Further, if included in your package, a date is arranged for the pre wedding/engagement session. This is also an opportunity for us to get to know a bit more about you.

What are your prices and packages?

I would love to discuss rates with you!  Seeing as that no two weddings are alike, the best way to view at my pricing is by clicking on the CONTACT ME button and emailing me some details about your plans!  If I am available on your date, I would be more than happy to email you my rates for your location, as well as chat about putting together a custom package that suits exactly what your wedding requires.
